Knowledge / Skills & Experience
We are seeking a Senior Assembler Developer to join our Systems Development & Testing function, Mainframe sub-team, based in Lovell Park, Leeds.
Working closely with our business partners on the design, development and support of applications that provide point-of-sale functionality for the Bancassurance Sales Forces, the team provides a full service including project work, BAU developments, Operational Support and ad-hoc business support needs.
Knowledge / Skills & Experience
Essential experience:
- Extensive experience as a fully competent Developer. - Technical Leadership. - Proven ability to learn new technologies. - Direct experience of a number of stages of software projects. - Key Technical Skills: IBM MVS Assembler JCL, TSO, FileAid, AbendAid, MVS
Desirable experience:
- Involvement with one major project from requirements through to delivery. - Retail Bank IT knowledge. - Technical Skills: Service Oriented Archetecture.
Principal Accountabilities
You will work on projects that amend our batch (QDnn) and/or online (TD73) mainframe processing and, as well as development work, primarily have involvement in the full project lifecycle from functional/technical analysis through to test support. Opportunities may also be available in the future for you to cross train into newer technologies (eg .NET or Oracle). Other Accountabilities: As we provide 24*7 support on our systems, you will be asked to join our Mainframe out-of-hours callout team once established in the role
